It’s a new +1 Forward, this time I get to chat with Michael Sands about his fun and exciting Monster of the Week! The AP has some good examples of how to run the mystery side of a MotW game.

Despite helping produce RPG podcasts, I don’t actually get to listen to very many. I have a few shows I try to catch every now and then, but the Gauntlet consumes most of the time I can dedicate to RPG-related activities.
I’m always thinking about expanding our offerings, but I need your help finding an existing podcast that fits the following criteria:
1. Is complementary to the shows we are already doing. In other words, it covers the games we already cover, but in a different way; or it covers other types of games in the indie space (such as OSR/DIY, Fate, etc..).
2. Has established the ability to release episodes on a regular basis, or could do so if it had some help.
3. Is small enough in terms of audience (less than 1,000 listeners) that it could benefit from being part of the Gauntlet family. So, obviously, please don’t tell me about anything on One Shot or Friends at the Table, which seem to be the only two other podcasts people listen to. I’m looking for small shows trying to find an audience.
4. Is actually a good show.
In the alternative, if you have been thinking about an idea for a new podcast, get in touch with me over Hangouts chat. Pocket-Sized Play got started because the hosts got in touch with me, we began the conversation, and those conversations eventually turned into a show. There is no guarantee something like that will happen again, but it doesn’t hurt to brainstorm a bit.

Since Discern Realities has moved to a bi-weekly schedule for the Fall, I wanted to post a reminder about the Codex Keeper contest we are presently running. All you have to do is submit something original for Dungeon World inspired by the Codex – Blood image (pictured here). It can be a magic item, a ritual, a custom move, a monster, an NPC, etc..
You can paste the text of your entries in the comments on this post, or email them to us at gauntletpodcast@gmail.com.
The deadline is September 15th. The winner receives a $25 gift certificate to DriveThruRPG.
