Has anyone tried running an OSR megadungeon like Barrowmaze with Dungeon World or one of its variants (World of Dungeons or Freebooters on the Frontier)?

  1. I know Jason has talked about refitting OSR modules for the abstracted spatial assumptions of PbtA. I was wondering how it would work when a concrete space was kind of the whole thing. Is it too poor a fit to run a PbtA system in a spatially detailed environment when that environment is basically the whole selling point? I’m particularly interested in the idea of doing it with Freebooters, which has more of a resource-management emphasis than vanilla DW, in keeping with the assumptions of a megadungeon.

  3. Ara Winter, do you run them more or less as written (adapting monsters/NPCs/magic items), or do you break them down more fundamentally to adapt them to PbtA play structure the way Jason does?
