There appear to be 2 major struggles in our Undying game (and probably in Undying as a game);

The communal struggle for Status, and the personal struggle for Humanity.

My character is spectacularly failing at both, and Fraser Simons’ newly turned predator seems to be already in the new Princeps’ good books, though I can see their Humanity coming in to question before long.

This game feels very good at maintaining our focus towards those struggles, redirecting our movements (and Moves) back in the direction of these questions. Even the most humane among us have gruesome, primal survival needs, even the most solitary of us can’t exist entirely without the community.

Thanks Eadwin Tomlinson for running a fun game

  1. Sorry I missed it guys! Sounds like Mala was up to her usual antics YG Mitchell. I’ll Have to buddy up with Fraser Simons character if he’s kissing up to the new Princeps 😉

  3. I’m a new vamp, just doing what I’m told and learning the ropes while sloooowly getting more duplicitous. I have a feeling the puppet-master playbook is going to be pretty neat!

    I really like this game, it’s quite tight mechanically, and Paul did an overall wonderful job with it. Everything is very on theme with the blood mechanics being diceless. It’s all very tactical and feels right for a game about immortals.

  5. Thanks YG Mitchell its an interesting game for the mc where you have to set a time line of events for the nightly play and see what the characters do with it. I’m getting the hang of it slowly!!

  7. Hm, I can’t think of very many off the top of my head. Dread uses a janga tower instead for its suspense/horror. Amber diceless people seem to speak well of but I’ve never played it or read it. I bought Nobilis for my brother for christmas and that looks absolutely fantastic, would love to play that as well.

  9. Nobilis does look good. I’ll have to check it out. All men must die is a stretch goal for undying which turns predators into noble houses. I’d like to check that out at some point too.
