Video Updated

Since the google toolbox for hangouts seems to have gone the way of the Dodo. I have put together this quick rough video on how to use OBS to get your Lower 3rd back and also add other graphical elements to your Hangout camera.

there are a few steps. I may re-record this later if I can find some time to do a bit more production value on it. but the basics of using OBS to do Lower 3rd in Hangouts is here.

NOTE this really will only help Windows users. if your on Mac or Linux you will need to hunt down a different Virtual Camera Output plugin for OBS..

Super excited!

Many new things coming this week, such as a new playbook design, new playbook (the Master Minstrel, a bard rendition), and a brand new website design!

The Minstrel is heavily based on the singing bard trope and my experience for more magical/arcane Bards from MUDs.

Here’s a sneak peek, feedback encouraged!

Preparing for this weekend’s Session #2 of my Dungeon World campaign, I mapped out the party’s home base as they are currently in route there. the small Farming Village of Torblin is a sleeping little hamlet about four days ride from the Party’s current position, they will pass the Logging Camp and the Town of Soloston before arriving back at the village.

a majority of the map was constructed from Gabriel Pickard’s “Village to Pillage product on Roll20’s marketplace. with a number of my-own hand-drawn features ( such as the pond )

The Logging Camp images was put together from several different graphics packs from Roll20, primarily David Hemenway’s Forest Campsite and Cabriel Pikard’s Town Fortifications Additon

having reviewed my notes from last weekends first gaming session, I have rendered out a nicer map based on my hand drawn map from game night.

I found this really nice set of GIMP brushes that made really quick work of this.

thanks to StarRaven for sharing these awesome brushes.

The party is based out of the little farming village, the upper one across the river from the small town. they are currently camped about halfway between the goblin hole ( in the mountains due north ) and the logging camp north of town along the trail.

now to plan the trouble for next session 🙂

Ran my first Dungeon World game tonight for a group of seven players,

Vulwin the Ranger, Kelial The Immolator, Dave the Dwarven Cleric, Trixie the halfling thief, Sanguinus the human Paladin, Xia the elf Barbarian and Lexor the Elf Druid.

A rag tag Elf heavy band of adventurers entered the Goblin Hole, fought and role-played their way out of several sticky situations and rescued some villager children from the clutches of the evil goblins.

System was easy to learn and even easier to teach. we all had a blast.

though I have to say I still have a lot to learn about DMing DW.
