We’re Taking Pitches for Codex!

We’re Taking Pitches for Codex!

We’re Taking Pitches for Codex!

We have the next three issues of Codex pretty much planned out in terms of the articles, so now it’s time to start looking at the three beyond those.

We’re taking pitches for Codex – Joy, Codex – Decay, and Codex – Beasts. Past and future issues of Codex feature:

-Material for existing indie games, like Dungeon World, Lovecraftesque and The Final Girl.

-Complete OSR-style adventures

-Original LARPs

-Original microgames

-Setting creation tools

We’re open to pretty much anything so long as it is something you can use at the game table (or game space, in terms of LARPs). Your idea should also have some sort of connection to the theme, even if only in the most loose or abstract terms.

If you have something you want to pitch, please send a short paragraph summarizing your idea to gauntletpodcast@gmail.com.

We pay 5 cents per word upon publication. Authors get to keep their text, though we ask it not be used for another RPG magazine.

Thanks!

Codex back issues are now available in the Patreon feed (get them while you can!)

Codex back issues are now available in the Patreon feed (get them while you can!)

When we first launched the Patreon, I think a lot of people didn’t realize just how awesome Codex was going to be and so they didn’t jump on the early issues when they had the chance. If I’m being perfectly honest, we weren’t sure how it was going to be received either. Those of us who were principally involved in putting Codex together had little to no experience in publishing. We didn’t know we were going to end up creating such a high quality product, and so we never really made a plan for how to deal with back issues.

We have decided we would rather have more people be able to enjoy the awesome creativity that goes into each issue of Codex than fewer, and so we are making the entire collection available until May 31st. On that day, back issues will disappear from the Patreon feed and will not be available again until we compile them into the annual or start selling them individually.

This is a terrific opportunity to get your hands on one of the coolest things happening in RPGs right now, as well as to show your support for everything we do in the Gauntlet.

Thanks!

In Episode 10 of Dungeon World: Domenico Castafiel, we get to see the ritual that has been the main focus of this series. I’ll warn you now: it’s pretty ghoulish. But it’s also lots of fun, and a great example of how to do the Ritual move on-screen.

d100 Table of Questions

d100 Table of Questions

d100 Table of Questions

To celebrate Episode 100 of The Gauntlet Podcast, we’d like your help creating a table of 100 questions.

How will we use this table?

On Episode 100, the hosts will each roll dice and answer questions from the table. We will also invite past guests, former hosts, and some community members to roll on the table and answer a question.

We may continue to use the table from time to time, especially if we have guests on that we think would get a kick out of it.

We will share the table with other RPG podcasts so they can get in on the fun, too.

What do we need from you?

Submit your questions! You can paste them right here in the comments. If you re-share this post, be sure folks submit their questions here, otherwise we won’t see them.

We’re looking for a variety of question types. Some can be funny, some can be serious. Most should be about games, but some non-gaming questions are cool, too.

Also: since we’ll be sharing this table with other folks, make sure the questions aren’t too specific to the hosts of The Gauntlet Podcast.

Have fun!

And thanks!
