Okay, well I got the report for session 4 done before session 5 started (just barely though).
Okay, well I got the report for session 4 done before session 5 started (just barely though). This concludes what my brother terms the prologue and it seems like our next task will be to recruit some help in this quest to prove the innocence of our client, Istryx, now former goddess of secrets.
Richard Ruane ran Into the Odd: Electric Bastionland for Pat Perkins, Brian Wille and myself. Richard used Michael Prescott’s urban adventure “House of the Tyrant.” We got into all sorts of trouble on our way to the Occularium, when we made it there the “stuff” really hit the “fan”. I drew my character Kirkpatrick the Donkey Chaplain turned treasure hunter – he turned out to not be a very nice guy… Link to ap video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7AH-pU6pOL0

I’ve started playing in a D&D campaign in my Sunday mornings a bit. Playing a celestial warlock with some people that are on the Loading Ready Run discord server.
For the character I decided to go with a bit of an Aztec feel, partially because I’m trying to expand on the cultures I draw from for my characters, and so went looking for some Aztec poetic forms. The only one I could find was hymnals. On the one hand this is apropos because the character is a celestial warlock. But on the other, you don’t write hymns about your day to day life events.
That said, she happened upon the discovery of her patron, an opposite to the evil serpent deity of most yuan-ti, and is now on the run due to her family and people considering her a dangerous heretic. So maybe she is trying to make up hymns on the fly. She’s young and alone, who knows.
In any case, I’ll link the journal page, character sheet, and first set of hymns (while I looked at some of the way the poems structured themselves, the structure I went with is ultimately one I just made up, not authentic in any regard)

I’m running a little challenge for folks to spread the word about emerging designers and give folks free games.
I’m running a little challenge for folks to spread the word about emerging designers and give folks free games. This seems perfectly in line with the welcoming nature of the Gauntlet community, so I wanted to let folks know!

The Emerging Voices Challenge
For the month of February, I am hosting a challenge for all of us. Let’s spend some time, some care, and some love with the emerging voices in game design. Let us tell our friends of the new creatives and their bold ideas. Promote the inspiring works from new creators, and those from underrepresented communities.
Help me make this a month of hope and discovery. I will be overjoyed to send you a free physical game in thanks for your generosity.
It’s February and love is (allegedly) in the air! To celebrate, we are giving away THREE softcover copies of Emily Care Boss’s The Romance Trilogy (plus PDFs!). We will do a drawing on February 14th, 21st, and 28th. To be entered in the drawings, all you have to do is follow us on Twitter @GauntletRPG.
Big thanks to Emily for her help with this promo. To learn more about The Romance Trilogy, follow the link below. (Personally, I recommend the game about sexy werewolves for very obvious reasons.)
We are launching a new Pocket-Sized Play AP tonight.
We are launching a new Pocket-Sized Play AP tonight. Malandros: Another Day in Rio is taken from the game of Malandros Tom McGrenery ran at Gautlet Con 2017. And let me tell you: it is fantastic. This is some of the sharpest, most engaging roleplaying I’ve seen in a long time. You will not regret giving this one a shot.
The link below is to Episode 01. There will be three more episodes releasing weekly in February.
Just a heads up as we head into February and GMs begin to post games for April– we still have room for games in March. If you’re thinking about running a game for The Gauntlet check out the monthly calendar. You can see there which nights & days have fewer games.
If you’re thinking about running a Gauntlet game, I’d be glad to help you out. I can direct you to our online resources & videos, and I’d be glad to chat with you one-on-one if you’d like.
