Just got my Sig kickstarter this week – woot! Actually started with Circles of Power. Reading through it now and it’s intriguing. PbtA meets Misdirected Youth meets D and D (sort of).
It’s a game about Wizards in a world that hates them. Not because of their ability to wield magic, but because of their very identity. All PCs are part of a disenfranchised Circle – the Foreign, the Native, the burdened, or the Forsaken.
Eventually I assume the players Stand Up – it’s one of the moves. But haven’t gotten there yet.
More AP for Saturday afternoon… This is the second episode of our Malandros AP on Pocket-Sized Play. This is a really fabulous AP. The characters are delicious and the roleplay totally engaging.
Check it out!
Cc: Tom McGrenery David LaFreniere Tyler Lominack (and Patrick, who I can’t tag).
I rolled 2d6 +CHA and got an “8,” so that’s eight dreams to give away this week…
A dream to Lowell Francis who has taken on a leadership/mentorship role at Gauntlet Hangouts and is doing incredible stuff with it.
A dream to Kate Bullock, who is sharing our magic and bringing folks into the fold.
A dream to David LaFreniere who is moving into the content side of Codex, which is a massive help to me.
A dream to the #feel_club channel on our Slack group. Such an incredible space for support and encouragement. It’s a marvel to behold.
A dream to Claudia Cangini who has been such a pleasure to work with on Codex.
A dream to Tom McGrenery and Paul Edson, my co-conspirators on Fear of a Black Dragon. Working on that show has been so creatively fulfilling, you don’t even know.
A dream to Hamish Cameron who gave us some dreams on Twitter yesterday out of nowhere, and it was lovely.
A dream to Kyle Simons, who is always so supportive of me personally, and who just gets it.
Do you have some dreams to give out this week? Post them in the comments (and tag people!)

The first part of my look at my Masks: A New Generation hack, “Mystery Academy.” I ran four sessions in January and I’ll looking back at that. Today’s post focuses on the mechanical changes. Next time we’ll look at story, structure, and revisions.
(it should also be an most podcast apps, let me know if we are missing any)
A few buddies and myself started doing this a few months ago and we just wrapped up our second series in the podcast which I am pretty proud of. We tend to go for more serious gameplay moments with the jokes being outside the fiction. While the original episode zero (where we give the gauntlet all the props) has been taken down because of sound quality and let’s be honest inexperience, it was my first time running DW for people. I would throw a shout out to Jason Cordova and the whole gauntlet crew for influencing how we decided to run our podcast. The world is continuous, but stories are broken up into smaller runs with new characters and a new DM for every series. If that sounds like your kind of thing, please do! If not, that is okay! Soon, we are also going to have an open resource for magic items on the website for any new DM’s! we have just been slacking! Some will come soon! I swear!
Thanks a lot for all that you folks do as a community. I’m happy to be a part of it!

ps. if any of you are in Iowa HMU! We run a ton of stuff locally and would love to have you come in!
For a few months now, I have been batting around the idea of a playtest program on Gauntlet Hangouts that prioritizes game designers of color. I’d like to get some feedback on the eventual Google Form that prospective participants will fill out. I am looking for all kinds of feedback on the form, but particularly feedback from game designers about what sorts of questions you would expect to be asked on such a form. You can comment here or message me on Hangouts chat.
I don’t know when this happened, but The Final Girl by Bret Gillan is pay what you want on DriveThru right now (!!!).
I don’t know when this happened, but The Final Girl by Bret Gillan is pay what you want on DriveThru right now (!!!). For anyone new around here, The Final Girl is my second favorite ttrpg of all time. I absolutely adore it, and we have talked about it a million times on our podcasts.
Go pick it up! (And even though it’s pwyw, kick over some cash, ok? No game is more deserving.)
