I was a KS backer so I downloaded it right away and had a chance for a quick skim before I went to bed last night. Wow! I expected this game to be fun but the book includes whole essays devoted to an intro and analysis of recent modern insurgencies like the Arab Spring, and provides a practical, real-world introduction to the “ethical insurgency” model baked into the core of the game. If you care about politics these days–especially if you’re learning how to effectively organize against fascist elements of society–I don’t think you’ll find a more gameable examination of theory and praxis than this.

A friend of mine in the UK is planning to run Rovers at the Continuum game convention this weekend.
A friend of mine in the UK is planning to run Rovers at the Continuum game convention this weekend. I decided he needed a promo flyer so I hand-crafted this. I didn’t “use Photoshop” or “Do a decent job” but I work within my own constraints. Many thanks to Catherine Ramen of Aviatrix Games
Anyone else interested in Over the Edge? Backed it, as I have both previous editions and almost all the supplements. For me, OTE is probably the first “story game” I ever encountered. The chargen mechanics blew my mind. Sadly, I could never get any of my friends to play.

This was pretty cute – a play-through of Tomb of Horrors using a ‘party’ of 30 kobolds.
This was pretty cute – a play-through of Tomb of Horrors using a ‘party’ of 30 kobolds. I think this is the Paranoia-esque version that Tom McGrenery has been waiting for. 😛
Trying to get back in the design of this game by sharing it with more people, and maybe get back to the more complex rpg version.
“Xenophon ” is a storygame for 3-6 players. It let’s players create their own take on the Ten Thousand’s Persian Expedition. Players go through six Stations, facing different challenges, defying fate and developing – or stressing – bonds with each other.
The themes of the game are companionship and sacrifice – will you return to Hellas and how much have you changed during your voyage?

In the newest episode of The Gauntlet Podcast, I am joined by Joshua Fox of Black Armada to discuss his new game, Flotsam: Adrift Amongst the Stars. We also discuss a lot of RPG theory and other topics. It’s a really wonderful, warm conversation. NPR AF, really (or Radio 4 AF, I suppose).
