Preparing for this weekend’s Session #2 of my Dungeon World campaign, I mapped out the party’s home base as they are currently in route there. the small Farming Village of Torblin is a sleeping little hamlet about four days ride from the Party’s current position, they will pass the Logging Camp and the Town of Soloston before arriving back at the village.

a majority of the map was constructed from Gabriel Pickard’s “Village to Pillage product on Roll20’s marketplace. with a number of my-own hand-drawn features ( such as the pond )

The Logging Camp images was put together from several different graphics packs from Roll20, primarily David Hemenway’s Forest Campsite and Cabriel Pikard’s Town Fortifications Additon

Friends, some time ago I solicited input for my DW Ehdrigohr conversion from one Jason Cordova.

Friends, some time ago I solicited input for my DW Ehdrigohr conversion from one Jason Cordova. His feedback was, “Why would I play anything besides the cool classes?” and “Why not make this a standalone PBTA game?”, to which my feedback was, “Does not compute”.

Thankfully things clicked and, with some wonderful help from the wonderful Joshua Faller, I’m glad to say that Shiver World is nearly playtest-ready! The text is not done and there are still lots of things to tease out and decisions to be made (gender moves? night moves? additions to advancement? blah blah blah?), but I always like input from more experienced PBTA folks. So, if you have a moment, please consider looking over the document and consider playtesting! I’ll be organizing an online session soon(ish).

Today, during Saturday Morning Cartoons, I think I finally nailed down my GM’ing.

I didn’t have a crazy adrenaline spike, I didn’t sweat it when I wasn’t sure how a situation would play out. The players gave me the space to move the play along at an exciting pace, and still frame a scene properly. I prepped just enough to run smoothly without bogging any particular situation down.

I wasn’t worried about furiously trying to run perfectly, or making sure no one was bored EVER.

I just really, REALLY, enjoyed the experience, and so did the players.

That’s not to say other sessions haven’t been good, or even great, but this is the first time I felt 100% comfortable as a GM, like I was just talking with friends.

I owe a lot of that to The Gauntlet, and the positive player culture. So thanks for letting me cut my teeth here, and become better.

Shout out to

Alex Chalk Jim Cummings Johannes Carlsten, you have made great characters, and I am already looking forward to next week.

This just arrived today. I play tested Mobilize at Metatopia in 2015 and was blown away.

And the book itself is a work of art.

I can’t wait to facilitate these games soon.

There is a thing that inhabits the World of Dreams. It can take many forms. It sends scary dreams to children and only the Dreamers (who know how to Control the Dream) can stop it.

What is it called?

I just finished playing the second session of the Coriolis:The Third Horizon.

I just finished playing the second session of the Coriolis:The Third Horizon… Lowell Francis is TEH AWSUM GM, and I had a blast playing with Victor Wyatt , Kyle Simons and Fraser Simons . The full rules are now out to kickstarter backers, so I’m sure this’ll be on sale for everyone else soon. Enjoyed it a LOT! Thank you, guys!

Hi Lovely people!

Hi Lovely people!

Hi Lovely people!

Tomorrow is a big day for me, I’m releasing my first TTRPG as Early Access.

The game is called The Republic and I’ve been developing it with the help of Vincent Baker and Mark Redacted. It’s a game about Social Justice, Element Bending, and Piles of Dice. It’s being released at 8am GMT nov 18th and I’ve linked the website below. If anyone has a podcast/blog/whatever and wants to feature it though just hit me up and I’ll send you a sneaky media preview copy ASAP.
