PACK OF STRAYS – now with an updated one-sheet version!
The text now mostly matches the version of the game in Codex – Beasts. It’s also featuring the new title design by Oli Jeffery and an illustration by Claudia Cangini. You’ll still want to get the Codex – Beasts version if you love the game, because it has amazing illustrations by Jesse Ross, the Mercy Falls setting by Jason Cordova, the Gauntlet City setting by Richard Rogers (& many other Guantleteers), as well as a full CATS introduction to the game.
You’ll also notice mention of having a “scratch”. That’s for the Codex – Moonlight version of the game, PACK OF STRAYS: WOLF RUN, coming May 1st!
Thanks again to everyone who has helped get Pack of Strays out into the world.

I find myself lately frustrated by the tendency in our hobby to elevate and promote the same people over and over again. Dreamation this year was a reminder that there is so much good stuff being put out in the world, but the vast majority of it will never be seen by a wider audience. What do we have to do to elevate the voices of new people? Even more important, what do you need, as a consumer, to consider the work of someone other than these #SameFiveDudes?

Brian Holland is the Evel Knievel of Dungeon World zine creators! Even after down time forced by a terrible vehicular accident, he bounced back and managed to produce issue 6 before two zine makers who had a multiple issue head-start on him!
All this with no loss of flare! This is another issue chalk full of cool ideas and delightful tools for randomizing your adventure!

I imagine someone has created a spectrum of ttrpgs with narrativist at one one end and simulationist at the other end (is this even the right axis? I could see other options: GM-driven vs collaborative creation?)
If I”m trying to introduce a group to how the hobby has changed in the last 20 years what’s a good series of games to break them in by? something to show them the width and breadth as well as the evolution ?
I recently tried Swords Without Master with someone who had last played Pathfinder and it was a step too far. I’m thinking I need to start with something a bit more structured (but can be quickly learned) and then move forward from there (+1 Forward!).
[direct offshoot of my last post but thought it better to start a new post than to bury this somewhere in the comments as a reply]
