Does anybody use Flags it Buttons instead of Bonds in the Gauntlet Hangout DW games?

Does anybody use Flags it Buttons instead of Bonds in the Gauntlet Hangout DW games?

Does anybody use Flags it Buttons instead of Bonds in the Gauntlet Hangout DW games? Sounds like it could be a great way to run a campaign where you have different characters playing from week to week, while still meeting the intent of Bonds.

Do you love numbers? I certainly do.

Do you love numbers? I certainly do.

Do you love numbers? I certainly do.

Number of game sessions currently on the Gauntlet Hangouts calendar through March: 45

Number of spots made available in those games:: 253

Number of spots already filled: 232 (!!!)

And these numbers don’t even include Gauntlet UK, Story Game Sunday, and Friday Night Drive-In events for March, which should add at least 10 more sessions.

Man, I really love what we do. #HailSatan

An update on The Company of the Three Kings.

An update on The Company of the Three Kings.

I’m very pleased with how the sessions have gone. We finished The Dark Shard of Nemrath and The Castle of the Dreaming Doors. The Croaking Fane and Bleakwood House are underway and nearly complete. So far, these sessions have been a lot of fun, and I can’t wait to see how things turn out.

The guildhall has had some interesting improvements made to it, including a fabulous yeti hide hanging over the great fireplace; a number of new ‘dreaming doors,’ which should lead to some Planescape-style adventure; and Nemrath’s Almanac.

A short term goal for the project includes commissioning some art for the guildhall and the various company members. Please note: only characters who are updated in the Company Book will have art.

A long term goal for the project is to assemble my original 2016 scenarios into a collection of dungeon starters, complete with art and layout.

Could someone take a look at this.

Could someone take a look at this.  I know I left out technology and vehicles (gonna, make those constructs) but I think this is workable.  I would appreciate any suggestions anyone has, good or bad, just be nice lol! Thanks!  Also made a character sheet for it.

Thanks to everyone for another great evening of gaming!

Thanks to everyone for another great evening of gaming! We had Scott Owen for running Dungeon World for our regular session, and for Russell Benner for running Masks of the Mummy King, a fun romp through a cursed tomb looking for fabulous treasures, while hiding our faces from each other.

Which time zone are you in?

Dearest Gauntlet Hangouters! I’d love to do a simple little census so I can see which people I should follow closely and which people’s events I’d better ignore if I need to sleep at night?

Friday Night Drive-In

There’s a new member of the Gauntlet Hangouts family, Friday Night Drive-In! Our good friend Russell Benner will be running it on Fridays from 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm Central. The first series he’s doing is a four-part Sagas of the Icelanders. If you’re interested, follow the link to our new Meetup group!

Gauntlet Hangouts – New Meetup Group

As you may know, the Events functionality has been very unreliable since Google started fiddling with G+. It is now difficult to receive notifications when new Events go up, and the simple act of finding an Event has turned into a frustrating chore. Even back when the Events functionality worked, it was missing a number of key features, such as RSVP limits and waitlists, which made it a mediocre tool at best.

We currently pay for three Meetup sites, but we only use one, FtF Houston. Given that, we’re going to move Gauntlet Hangouts to Meetup. We’re still going to run the sessions with some combination of Hangouts, Drive, and Roll20, but the games will be organized on Meetup. The Gauntlet Hangouts G+ Community will be going away.

Before we can fully make the switch, though, we need everyone to join the new Meetup group. To encourage you, I will begin listing my new games there immediately, starting with Session 2 of Red & Pleasant Dreams, Session 2 of Vault of the Purple Mane, and Session 2 of the new series of Monster of the Week. Dan will also be putting February’s Story Game Sunday events up on Meetup. If you want to be notified when these events go up, you need to join the Meetup right away.

Other game organizers (OSR Tuesday, Gauntlet UK, Gauntlet City Limits, Friday Night Drive-in) can move their games over to Meetup as they wish, but must be completely transitioned for their March events. Richard Rogers Eadwin Tomlinson Robert Ruthven Doyle Tavener Russell Benner: we will make you guys Event Organizers when you join so you can start putting your events there. Please wait until I have my events up so you can mimic my format.

Everyone else: don’t wait! Follow the link…to the future!
