A good friend of mine launched his kickstarter yesterday! This is a haunted house mega-dungeon that can be used with your game system of choice (agnostic). I have had a chance to read through the latest version (which is done besides some additional graphics incidentally) and he has really done an amazing job. A couple years ago, I had the opportunity to run this for my normal game table. It was very atmospheric and continues to haunt the memories of several of my players who did not survive 🙂 I believe this is money well spent and I would encourage you to consider checking it out and seeing if it might be something for your table to enjoy as well.

I just finished reading through the Cosmic Patrol game book. I have to say that I absolutely enjoyed digging through this. I guess this isn’t the kind of game I was expecting from Catalyst Game Labs. The mechanics seem rather easy and I very much enjoy the flavor. I can see myself running this very soon! Anyone out there played this yet?

I was looking through the stack of books I picked up in 2013 (can we say overkill?) and I picked up one I haven’t…

I was looking through the stack of books I picked up in 2013 (can we say overkill?) and I picked up one I haven’t really flipped through yet. I picked up 13th Age at Gencon and at the time I was thinking it might be a fun alternative to Pathfinder which was starting to experience the bloat creep of 3-3.5 D&D. Anyway, I also snagged Dungeon World at Gencon which I HAVE had the chance to play repeatedly and it is an amazing system that offers something wildly different from Pathfinder (fulfilling that need). Anyway, I know some of you have played 13th Age and I was curious if you might be willing to provide a brief perspective on it and the kind of game niche it fills? The last thing I need is another rules heavy tactical game so it might just have to sit and look pretty on my shelf if that is what is going on. However, if I am missing something golden, I’d sure like to know! Thanks.

I was looking over your events calendar and it looks like the bulk of your events take place in “meatspace” instead…

I was looking over your events calendar and it looks like the bulk of your events take place in “meatspace” instead of online. Unfortunately, I live in MO and I can’t exactly drive on over to join in the fun 🙂 Many of the players in this group seem like they really know their stuff and you play many of the games that I would be very interested in checking out (the bulk play Pathfinder in my area though we have been pushing into more interesting titles). Do you anticipate adding more online activities down the road? If there were particular games that I would like to bring to my area but lack the hands-on experience with, would any of you consider helping spread the joy by hosting an online game (to gain experience with the system)? Or, if that wasn’t of interest, would you instead be willing to sit in on a game as I try to stumble my way through some of these new books I have? I’m going to continue to look for groups out there that match what I seek but I figured it couldn’t hurt to atleast put out my feelers so to speak 🙂
