  1. The great thing about traditions is that they take less work. The con was awesome, but the amount of work! Wow. You guys killed it. Having done it once it will be easier to repeat and tune up.

  3. Ray Otus Yeah, and true to form for us, even though the Con was a great success, we’ve identified a dozen things we weren’t happy about and will be fixing for next year.

  5. Jason Cordova I figured. The first time always has rough edges. And there’s no such thing as a perfect formula, so even after everyone recognizes something is good there will always be things you feel you can do better. Personally, next time I will take 3 hours slots but plan them like 2 hour slots. So I can game for 2h20m, debrief for 20m, and have a break for 20m before the next slot. I think everyone I gamed with was going right into another game at the end and it felt a bit … abrupt. I didn’t really get the chance to connect with them personally as much as I would have liked. My fault for filling most of the 3 hours. My scenarios were a little bulky.

  7. Ray Otus The size of the slots is one of the big things we’re talking about right now. Personally, I like a four-hour slot for a one-shot, but it probably limits the overall amount of participation.

  9. That would be good. Keep a focus on the debrief. I run one-shots A LOT and honestly consider myself as much an expert at that as I am about anything in the RPG world (which is questionable). 🙂 But the one place I sometimes fall down is not allowing time, or enough time, at the end for some conversation – for closure, untangling of emotions, etc.
