When you chaps use a new custom move for a shrine or a location or some such, do you read the full details of the move (including every possible outcome) before asking the player what they do?

  1. It helps. I’d also advise leaving the 6- result open, unless you have something specific in mind. Here’s one I made recently:

When you venture into the Grow to find something (medicinals, old world loot, someone missing, a way through), roll +Sharp.

On a 10+, pick three, on a 7-9, pick two.

You find what you are after

    You find it quickly

The Grow does not touch you

That’s it. As MC I don’t have to do anything on a miss because the move doesn’t say I have to. I could say you emerge days later with no luck and coughing up spores, or I could say you’ve used up all your petrol, or you’ve lost your backpack, or you miss something crucial while you’re out.
