  1. Joshua Hillerup Why the frowny face?

Initially when I started the supplement (which is about as old as urban shadows is itself,) I only wanted to do Vampire the Masquerade. When I started looking at each additional White Wolf wolf book, I noticed how impossible their structure and fiction is to pull into other systems, so I made the choice of pulling in stuff from nWoD.

If you remove your base knowledge of Old vs New, and allow yourself to just want a deeper Urban Shadows …. it works. And this coming from someone who played various Old WoD for over a decade.

  3. Ah. I have been wondering for awhile how to do Changeling the Dreaming as a PbtA game, as I thought that would be a better fit than the Storyteller System, and I was hoping this would be it.

  5. Btw Joshua Hillerup, my co-writer is a huge nWoD fan, so he too felt those initial pains.

If I had started with the intentions of adapting 8 books, I probably would have went with all nWoD books. But, I find the fiction of VtM does not conflict at all with the fiction of other chronicles.

  7. Joshua Hillerup, if you like Urban Shadows, but want either a broader set of moves for your characters or want your group to play one to fewer AT’s … I would say try it. It isn’t Changeling the Dreaming, but you will still very much a Changeling.

  9. Wow, this is free? What an incredible resource, thank you! I haven’t really been satisfied with any of the stand-alone WoD hacks, and Urban Shadows introduced some great ideas and mechanics, but was really going for its own thing. Marrying the two sounds very promising. This is tres killer.
