A game like Overwatch isn’t normally my thing, but those characters look so damn great, I really want to try it.

  1. It’s a lot of fun. Like the parts of league of legends I like (teamwork is key, characters a unique in meaningful, mechanical ways, you must learn the play style for certain characters) but turned into a first person shooter

  3. It plays a lot like Team Fortress 2 (almost exactly). The characters are charming but it still feels like I’m pressing buttons with little strategic effect. But maybe I just enjoy Halo 5 and Battlefield too much.

  5. Warren Denning That actually sounds great to me. I am in a point in my video game playing career where I want things to be only mildly challenging, because I don’t have enough time for more than that.

  7. It can get chaotic for sure. The fast pace and cartoony visuals kind of drag it in that direction. The game really shines when your team pushes against that pull by working in unison and making the most of their abilities. I feel like in most shooters that kind of high-level play is the only way to have fun, but the genius of Overwatch (in addition to choosing depth over complexity) is that it feels good either way.

  9. One trick to getting better at shooters is to also decrease the “Look” sensitivity a notch or two. This will allow you to aim better and not over correct if you clinch the controller tight in tense moments. The downside is that in close quarters you won’t be able to turn as quickly, but that’s okay because you’ll start engaging people at longer ranges- improving your aim and shot confidence.
