Whoa, just discovered that the current publisher of King Arthur Pendragon RPG is based here in Houston (Bellaire actually) and is none other than Stewart Wieck (responsible for the creation of White Wolf and DriveThruRPG among other things)

I picked up a copy of it when DtRPG had it 75% off.

Stewart Wieck lives in Houston? Huh. If true, we really need to get him to Owlcon.

I’m going to see if I can get him to come to Space City Con in August.
It’s surprising some of the RPG folks that live in the Houston area (and interestingly enough they don’t seem very involved with the local gaming scene).

Neat! He definitely should do the Houston con tour.
Marketing seems to be a facet of the industry which seems to be a challenge. Con tours are an easy way to get visibility, and the time expenditure can be tailored to the person. At the last few Houston I’ve noticed a couple of local RPG designers with booths, so I’ve had the chance to play some of their games. Didn’t mean I liked them (I may be picky in what I consider good game design), but at least they got me to try out their games.
