I don’t know if this has been done already, but I think it would be neat to make a story game which lampooned the anti-D&D hysteria of the 1980’s. I’m thinking of a game where your characters use a fictional fantasy RPG to bring innocents to the Dark Lord. Basically, a sort of meta-RPG that evoked the Dark Dungeons comics (or just the general Satanic Panic of the time period).

Ribbon Drive is DrveThru’s Featured Product today. In this game, you are creating a story about a road trip in the vein of movies like Y Tu Mama Tambien and Little Miss Sunshine. You use a mix tape to guide the fiction. It’s quite unique.

We will be playing this one soon for Story Game Sunday. Check the Events!

Ok, it’s time to drag out the old idea of a Gauntlet mini-con.

Ok, it’s time to drag out the old idea of a Gauntlet mini-con. Does anyone have any ideas for locations that are a) reasonably priced, b) will let us have the space for a whole day and c) has enough space for four or five tables going at once?

If you enjoy a good dungeon crawl, give this one a shot. Even trad gamers love it!

My Life with Master was amazing and profound.

My Life with Master was amazing and profound. The mechanics are great (Rob repeatedly yelled ‘elegant!’ this afternoon). Our story is by turns sweet and horrific. It is life-affirming AND depressing. The game really delivers.

The squik factor goes to 11 on this one. It is not for the squeamish. There is also a real danger of emotional bleed, because this game is pretty f’ed up. I mean, it’s about abusive relationships and how you break free from them by finding redemptive ones. And with a group of mature people who don’t mind poking the boundaries, it’s tremendously fun and touching.

Can’t wait for session 2!
