For the first episode, Richard Rogers is joined by Meguey Baker to talk Apocalypse World (2E).
I think Rich is off to a great start. A lot of RPG casts are about reviews and promotion, but this format is focused pretty squarely on play, and I think it shows a lot of promise. I can’t wait to see where it goes from here!

New Episode of the Gauntlet Podcast, New Website, and Podcast Release Schedule
New Episode of the Gauntlet Podcast, New Website, and Podcast Release Schedule
Hi everyone. Below is a link to the newest episode of The Gauntlet Podcast. It’s a pretty great episode, particularly the discussion in the beginning about transition sessions, and the Community Feedback segment, which is very much in line with how I see that segment going in the future. It is also a slim 42 minutes, which is a length I hope we can maintain going forward.
Big thanks to Kristen D for filling-in for me these last few weeks. She did an awesome job, and I’m so happy she was able to help us out.
You will notice the link goes to a different website. That’s one of the things I’ve been working on during my podcast sabbatical. It’s still a pretty simple site, and will eventually get built-out more, but take a look around. We welcome your feedback.
Finally, our podcast release schedule is going to be The Gauntlet Podcast on Sundays; +1 Forward on Wednesdays; and Discern Realities on Fridays. The shows won’t always be weekly (in fact, +1 Forward is bi-weekly to start), but when they do land, those are the days you can expect to see them.
With that in mind, the first episode of +1 Forward will be out this Wednesday, May 4th (!!!)

If anyone in the community is interested in podcasting about RPGs, please let me know.
If anyone in the community is interested in podcasting about RPGs, please let me know. I always have my eye on the future, whether that means developing entirely new shows, or switching up the hosts on the current shows. I am particularly interested in hearing from people who don’t mind learning the ropes of editing a podcast.
I’m probably going to switch my own focus to Codex for awhile, and so my presence on our podcasts will be a little less frequent. It could be a nice opportunity for someone else to step in and get involved.
If you’re interested, get in touch with me. I can’t promise anything, obviously, but I’d like to at least have an idea who might want to take that next step.
Or just put this post in your back pocket, in case you have some ideas in the future.
Thanks!

Just caught episode 52 of the podcast and almost jumped out of my seat (I was in the car) when Steve started talking about Picnic at Hanging Rock, directed by Peter Weir during the Community Feedback section talking about things people pull in from other sources. It’s one of my favorite movies. Some explaining is required.
There were two games that really crested me into indie games. Spirit of the Century was the first (I loves me some Fate!) and Dogs in the Vineyard was the second. When I read through DitV for the first time I was struck with two major influences for my interpretation of it. The first Dark Tower book, The Gunslinger was the first and Picnic at Hanging Rock was the second.
It was a movie that struck me very deeply for the deeply ominous tone that contrasts with these beautiful, sunny landscapes. I always thought about DitV like that. There are these beautiful prairies with deep blue skies and yet there is something terrifying about it all. Just wanted to say I enjoy the podcast all! And anyone who hasn’t seen Picnic at Hanging Rock should do so if movies are your thing!
