+1 Forward is here!

+1 Forward is here!

For the first episode, Richard Rogers is joined by Meguey Baker to talk Apocalypse World (2E).

I think Rich is off to a great start. A lot of RPG casts are about reviews and promotion, but this format is focused pretty squarely on play, and I think it shows a lot of promise. I can’t wait to see where it goes from here!

And thanks to Mischa Krilov for the outtro!

Here are the time-codes:

  1. That was pretty good. My only criticism is it got a little repetitive at the transitions. Hearing him announce the next segment, then hearing the transition say the name of the segment again, followed by him introducing the segment was a bit much. But other than that I’m excited for a new podcast to accompany my Gauntlet podcast and Discern Realities addiction!

  3. Does anyone else have a problem with adding it to their podcatcher? I have tried both the rss and the website address, and it doesn’t seem to wok in Pocket Cast :/

FIXED: The Gauntlet mobile website gives you a wrong rss (it points to itself, not the podcast). The podcast is hosted at http://1forward.libsyn.com/ and the correct RSS is http://1forward.libsyn.com/rss

Hope that it will help someone. Jason Cordova – it might be a good idea to add the rss link to the official website as well.

  5. hey Scott Selvidge, you’re right that I was a bit repetitive. My intent was to not only walk Meg through the transitions, but also introduce everyone to the structure of the show. I’d considered doing an “Episode Zero”, but decided to overcompensate for the first episode.

Good feedback, future episodes will not have that level of repetition.

  7. Going to listen to this asap. I’m excited about an AW podcast and especially sex moves – sometimes people don’t get them at all. So I’m excited to hear what you guys have to say about it. Sex moves might be one of the most defining things about playbooks in AW that I like and speak volumes about the game is about. I’m way to excited right now.

Edit: Yeah, nice! Listened to it. Good times in AW man! Sweet that it’s still on track for it’s release. My group introduced lifestyle changes when we played too, and I must admit there was a disconnect for me there. It does feel like minutia for me. It changes gameplay a bit from people going balls to the wall to more emphasis on scarcity is neat…but ultimately where it took our game was less interesting. But that just could have been us, too I suppose.

Has anyone else been playing with lifestyle differences integrated and enjoyed it? Would be interested in hearing others thoughts on it.

  9. I liked the little bit of Actual Play! Did yall preplan anything there, or did you edit much out? I figure you want to let other folks know they’d be expected to showcase some Actual Play as a guest.

(And those dulcet tones of the outro…)
