The Path to Dim Carcosa (Session 1 of 4)

Lord Caspian Gal, Keeper of the Woman Whose Face is Naught But Tentacles, is throwing a party and YOU are invited!

This session is a completely self-contained story (Sessions 2-4 will be the actual Dim Carcosa storyline). It involves all kinds of narrative fuckery I probably wouldn’t have attempted if not for the fact that I was playing with David LaFreniere and Fraser Simons, two of the players I trust the most.

If you have been keeping up with We Hunt the Keepers!, this session is going to blow your mind and make you ask all sorts of questions.

World of Dungeons – Death Frost Doom (Session 1 of 4)

I’ve got some Youtube videos for you today. The first is Session 1 of our Death Frost Doom series using World of Dungeons.

Death Frost Doom and World of Dungeons go together like avocado and toast, and this first session was a really great kickoff. Like all my first sessions, we spend a fair amount of time feeling out the characters and getting some establishing questions on the table to better hook them into the adventure. After some initial levity, the horror starts to sink in fast, especially once they get to the peak of the mountain.

Thanks to the players who joined me: Phillip Wessels Maciej Starzycki Jennifer Erixon and Gerrit Reininghaus

So I’ve finished up the playable my current RPG project, which I decided to use a working title (subject to change) of “The Airs and Audacity of Inner Words”. Here’s the elevator pitch:

Did you ever wonder what it would be like to have near unlimited power at the tip of your tongue? Well here’s your chance. You get to play a person who discovered their inner magic able to have nearly any effect. The down side, plenty of other people have done the same and expect you to cooperate with them. That and the fact that your power comes from burning off pieces of your soul, but that’s not a big deal, right?

Let me know what people think.

I have been reading the rule book for Dungeon Crawl Classic and I am starting to really look forward to trying it. I found an app that looks really amazing called “the crawler’s companion”.

it has all the DCC dice

character generator that you can email to yourself for printing a stack of zero level characters.

monster creator

spell handlers

reference material

and basically takes away a lot of the fear that the giant rule book instills. check it out in the app store if you are interested in DCC

Two months ago I shared the alpha version of a role-playing game I am working on, called BELOW, on Facebook. There was feedback and playtest, and the whole thing went through a huge revision. Its focus on dungeon crawling remains, but the mechanics have changed. A lot.

Even the name changed!

Read it, maybe try it, send me feedback. It’s the only way for the game to improve! THANK YOU!

Hey folks, as you may be aware, I have a Kickstarter running (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/robertbohl/misspent-youth-rpg-sell-out-with-me) for a slightly-updated edition of Misspent Youth, as well as a supplement, Misspent Youth: Sell Out with Me, that includes the work of a bunch of Gauntlet favorites.

The game is at 96% funding right now, and I’d love it if a pledge from The Gauntlet community pushed it over the edge into funding, before Wil Wheaton’s fans swamp it on July 5 (http://wilwheaton.net/2016/05/tabletop-season-4-day-7-misspent-youth/).

And you can see me posting nearly-daily updates about the hacks and worlds in the supplements at this “Kickstarter flogging” Collection: https://plus.google.com/collection/Q6h4CE
