A few days ago, Gauntlet: Rubber City played Evan Rowland’s Noirlandia. Y’all, this game was fun! We used the system to create a really compelling story about a murder mystery in New Cairo which involved a computer virus that can infect humans.

Setup was enjoyable and the dice mechanics were fun and “game-y.” We all agreed, though, that some more guidance when hitting on a 6 and solving a part of the mystery would have been nice. Still, we had lots of fun and I’m glad I backed this Kickstarter.

Thanks to Alexandra Smith and Ryan Sandy for making it a great time.

Tonight, The Gauntlet: Rubber City wrapped up our series of Dungeon World adventures in The Seclusium of Nishanesti of the Far Sea (an adventure I made using Vincent Baker’s The Seclusium of Orphone of the Three Visions).

There were evil sisters, assassins, giant sand slugs, and time travel. Really, lots of fun. Huge thanks to Ron and Carlos for seeing it through to the end.

Tonight, Gauntlet: Rubber City played Dungeon World. The adventurers infiltrated the seclusium, navigated the garden labyrinth, defeated the Time Horror, had a disgusting dinner with a troll, and reached the entrance of the wizard’s tower.

Huge thanks to Greg Lanum, Ron (who G+ won’t let me tag for some reason), Amy, Mike, and Carlos for coming out and making it an amazing time!

(Note in the pictures all the correctly folded name tags [hotdog 4 lyf].)

Last night, The Gauntlet: Rubber City played our first of three sessions of John Harper’s Lady Blackbird. How has it taken me so long to play this game?! I loved it! There was sneaking, magic, chases, heroism. It was pretty much whalepunk Star Wars.

Thanks to David Wang, Anne Marie Blankenship, and Simon Hunt for coming out.

Just a quick note that running games for kids is every bit as fun as Richard Rogers and Tor Droplets make it seem to be. I ran Andrew Medeiros’s The Woodlands for my little sister this past week and it was amazing.

The Gauntlet: Rubber City had a great final session of Marshall Miller’s The Warren this past Monday. The threat came from within for the Abingdon Meadow rabbits, as it turned out the newcomer Cottontail was not what he appeared to be.

Thanks Anne Marie Blankenship and Jeffrey Steinwachs, and a very special thanks to Simon Hunt for having not missed a single game since the founding of the Rubber City Gauntlet.

Also, I made a Youtube playlist of music I found to fit the tone of our game well (it’s mostly just the soundtrack from Watership Down) – https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-qx98C9L6XPHLT2u8643t43GZ39wU6UG

On Sunday, Jeffrey Steinwachs continued GMing our ongoing adventures in Jason Morningstar’s Night Witches. This game continues to blow my mind!

Monday night, we played our first game in a two-part series of Marshall Miller’s The Warren. This ended up being one of my favorite play experiences yet. (Poor Falafel.)

We finished The Warren kind of early, so we decided to play a quick game of Shane Mclean’s Cheat Your Own Adventure. The Crypt of Torment!

Huge thanks to Jeffrey Steinwachs, Simon Hunt, Greg Lanum, and (first-time roleplayer) Annie Benson for making it a great two days of gaming!
