Have you ever played a character for so long that you wanted the game to end instead of having to deal with losing them? I’m in a Werewolf Apocalypse game and myself and the pack alpha are the only ones still alive of our pack. Two others are on their 3rd or 4th character each. What was your experience and how did you handle it?

  1. i get to that point regularly, which is why it is good that my group exclusively plays games where death is voluntary. ii do not think i could personally handle a character of mine dying unless i had set out to tell a story that is a tragedy, with the knowledge from the get-go that i was not going to live.

my group always just ends our campaigns when the character arcs of the pc’s are over, so we do not really have the issue of things dragging on past when a character’s story is finished.

  3. In a previous W:tA campaign I was in, we simply retired the characters, made them elders, and moved on to the next generation. Some take over running the clan, other give in to wanderlust or journey other worlds, and some just find a mate and settle down. It fun to see these bad ass characters now saddled with politics and pups. 🙂
