Once again WotC demonstrates the power of great art. If you need more art work for your Lamentations or Ravenloft campaign look no further than Magic’s new Innistrad (see the joke) set.

Holy crap, I thought they were joking when they said it was the 70th expansion, but it’s really the 70th expansion. MtG has some impressive longevity.

I remember when Magic first came out, TSR released a CCG based on Dungeons & Dragons. At the time I thought “Well, Magic is cool, but this D&D card game is going to be the big thing,” and so that’s where I spent my money. Boy, was I wrong about that one.

You mean blood wars? I met a guy who bought a bunch of unopened duel decks of that just last week. It looks esoteric as all hell.

Pretty sure I’ve still got a ton of blood wars cards in the bottom of my closet. I think I played it like once or twice, but the art was fantastic.

Ryan Ó Laoithe Daniel Lewis Actually, no, the one I was referring to was Spellfire (although I had some Blood Wars cards, too).

Daniel Lewis Jason Cordova My friends and I played a ton of Spellfire (and MtG when it first came out) but eventually we found a couple card combos that lead to infinite churning which basically broke the game for everyone. After that it was Legend of the Five Rings mostly.
