I’m looking to hopefully run a regular Sunday game (10am-2pm+). Would anyone be interested?

What do you plan on running and where?

I’m open to nearly any games. I’d like to do something other than d&d or Pathfinder though. I’m familiar with World of Darkness, Savage Worlds, GURPS, Shadowrun and even Palladium for the very brave. 😀
Location would be dependent on where everyone is willing to game/host. Probably somewhere like Asgards Games.

Oh, oh, oh–can we do Dungeon World?

The rules are dead-simple and a lot of fun. I can one-shot it until you get the hang. I even have an extra copy of the book.

I’ve noticed a lot of people playing shadowrun. ( which also may be a consequence of me just recently coming back to roleplaying in general ) I’ve been hot to run a savage worlds stargate game for the longest time, but currently my time is pretty limited. I play in a shadowrun game every other friday.

I generally can’t game on Sundays, it’s the only day both me and my wife have off.

Jason Cordova I would love to learn Dungeon World. I’m never opposed to learning a new system. Chad Brown Catalyst Games are pushing Shadowrun pretty hard and it’s paying off. Lots of new love for the system plus they’re getting ready to release 5th edition and a video game!
What I’d love to do is establish a regular game where we can actually develop an ongoing story. Honestly, the system isn’t as important to me as the regularity of the group and willingness to do some coop storytelling. 🙂

Alex Camacho I agree 100% with your goals.  That sort of emergent, group storytelling is what I’m accustomed to from Austin, and especially with the types of games I play.  I’d love to get back to it. Â
I will make a pitch for Dungeon World. Â I have just finished reading the book cover-to-cover (something I rarely do) and what’s really grabbed hold of me is the fact that the authors have a genuine love for that old-school style of fantasy game, but they also clearly understand the importance of a modern rules system (that is, one that focuses on story rather than bookkeeping and square-counting).Â
It has a simple mechanic that is highly versatile and easily customizable (seriously, go take a look at the Dungeon World Tavern community–there is some amazing stuff going on over there). Â
Anyway, it’s the next game I plan on playing/running campaign-style.  With Kerry Harrison ‘s Friday night group, it’s probably the only other thing I’ll be able to fit in.  I was originally thinking mid-week, but Sunday works, too.  I’m giving you right of first refusal before I organize my own group. @Jason Cordova I’m down for whatever system we can all agree on and I’m always excited to learn a new system. Totally own for some Dungeon World. Now we just need to rally up some more players… 🙂

I think we just need to pull the trigger and create an Event. Â I can do that if you want to reserve space at Asgard Games. Â

Jason Cordova Yup, I agree. Asgards doesn’t actually open until 12pm on Sundays and my wife just reminded me she has a 10-12 workout with her trainer.
So how about we set the first game for Sunday 1pm-4pm on March 3rd. How’s that sound?

That sounds great to me! Â I think we’re going to do a Tuesday session at Cap5, too (Kerry’s workplace). Â I’m all about giving people as many chances as possible to try things. Â For the Sunday game, I’d eventually prefer to play and for you to GM, but I can run the first session or two. Â

I’m definitely down for the Sunday game and would love to get back in the GM saddle again. I’ll try to make the Tuesday game but my schedule has recently changed a bit so I’m not too sure.

Alex Camacho It seems like the Tuesday game might fill-up faster than the Sunday game.  Three-five players is ideal, so hopefully more will sign-up before Sunday.  I was going to suggest you bring your 14-year old.  If he is interested in DnD, he will almost certainly be interested in Dungeon World (DW isn’t tactical, but thematically they’re pretty similar).  The game is simple enough for almost anyone to dive in and start playing. I’m sure we’ll see more folks sign up as we get closer to the end of the week. i’ll definitely see if my son wants to tag along if there’s still room. I’m not sure Tuesdays are a viable option for me anymore. My daughter just started started taking a 5-6pm jiu jitsu class. I’m really hoping for a regular group and game on Sundays works out.
