Anyone have a working link to the Dungeon World Adventure Builder mentioned in Discern Realities Ep 54? The link at http://www.gauntlet-rpg.com/discern-realities/episode-54 is broken. 🙁

I don’t know why I created this Google Doc, but it has the builder and a couple more of John’s articles:

Those notes are really great and inspiring me (again) to try to be less prep-heavy. Just updating my “what to prep, what not to prep” template as a direct result.

Matt Horam matt I made a set right after I first read the article. But I dropped the monsters so as to let the players tell me what monsters they may find there.
I almost always have 3 players, so I shuffle these and deal one to each player, taking the last for myself. Then we each pick which one we want from our card (without telling anyone) and place a d10 on the table with our choice. Then we go in order (Location, Region, Site, Objective) and the person who had that card reads it and their choice.
I’ve started several games that way!https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/HOkHS9NmNlgji97vD3R9XL6ZTrW8YMLxtAXmxeGShoP0ziWQ9lPOmOGGDcC40lwtqYVIMZWVO3iiaU_MuOAnBU8RDs8y4NnLj3I=s0

Brian Holland I can offer nothing to this conversation! I will be in my quarters until someone needs me.

Lol Matt Horam only through iteration. My first set were exactly like yours (including the monsters). Then I added the numbers to choose or roll. THEN I decided to drop the monstets. Next iteration I added the (Location, Region etc.). My last tweak was just adding the number in the lower left for the correct order.
I also had some other versions with different fonts, but I liked this because it was more readable.

Here’s another link. This was a little 8-page booklet I was creating back in March that has a sample of using the Adventure Builder.

Ben M I should. I was looking for that when I found my Adventure seed generator and got distracted LOL. I’ll look when I get a chance.

Ben M, here’s the PDF. I added the monsters to it for you. I cut these and sleeved them into leftover Magic the Gathering card sleeves with a basic land for rigidity.

Yochai Gal that’s awesome, thanks for converting it! I think I didn’t do that to begin with because the sample text gets too small and the map is difficult to read.

Ben M on the way to work I realized I liked “Obstacles” and “Villain” for the line t the bottom of cards 5 and 6. I’ll change that tonight and you should be able to download the same link to get the change.

Brian Holland, yeah I’m still around. I’m glad to see this is still getting some use. I use it whenever I run a one-shot adventure.

John, I love your adventure builder, and I added it to One Shot World; here is pages 13 & 14 (which I think go hand-in-hand).

Brian Holland yeah I like Obstacles and Villain is a good change. Otherwise players who get cards 5 and 6 might feel they aren’t contributing so much in terms of uniqueness to the adventure, if that makes sense?

Ben M yeah totally! I did “Monsters 1” and “Monsters 2” right before I left for work and thought about it during the commute. I’ll change it and upload the new link in about 45 minutes or so 🙂
