  1. Small tangent, Mason Jars were invented in 1858. Prior to that, everything had to be stoppered, latched, or sealed. Something like a pickle jar in medieval times would have been seen as devilishly clever. Leave it to the gnomes to craft something like that. 🙂

  3. [More tangents because I have poor impulse control but a good imagination.]

    GM: The potion is magically sealed with a metal cap that won’t budge. There are some runes and an arrow that seems to suggest a direction. Perhaps you are supposed to rotate it?

    Fi-tor: Um, I twist the top off. Ah, in the direction indicated.

    GM: There is some resistance, no need to roll with your stats. The magical seal sucks a final breath but dies before it can exhale. Are you going to check out the contents?

    Fi-tor: Oh hellz no! I don’t know what manner of necromancy this is, but I don’t want any part of it. I hand it to the cleric.

    Clare: What!?
