Happy Saturday Ya’ll,
If a fit of shameless self-promotion and general bubbly pride at my player’s for a campaign I am running for my podcast, I wanted to share an episode with you. With the joke aside, in the Slack there was a conversation about character death. A lot of things were swirling around, but one of my main thoughts when it comes to the death of a character is to give the player space, let them take over for a bit if the scene allows, and (something I’m still trying to employ) let that character’s actions and personality resonate through the rest of the campaign. In this episode (SPOILERS*)

someone dies.
I won’t tell you who, but it comes as a surprise and we are not very deep into the campaign so far. Things just started to steamroll and some big fails lead to some tough consequences. I just wanted to put this out here as my contribution to the ongoing conversation about how we treat character death at the table.
If you have thoughts, please feel free!
Cheers!
Z

enjoyed the podcast, on season 2, i like how when you change a rule you say why, discuss it as a group, all focus on the story and move on, no arguement, just ‘yeah that’s cool, let’s go’

Blake Ryan Yeah, the group dynamic is one of the things that I just love to death. Everyone has DM’d so everyone is onboard in the best way possible. Hope you enjoying it, season two (with nathan at the helm) is one of my favorites we have done.
