Kate Bullock and I are back with GM Masterclass 02! Here are the issues we discuss in this one:
Learning from bad experiences.
Handling that one player who is clearly not having a good time.
Integrating GM tips and techniques into your personal style.
What to do when a player is focused on something inconsequential.
Making character generation feel more like play.
Let us help you take your GMing to the next level! Because, you know, we’re like GMing masters.
Enjoy!

Jason, will you be making your table rules and vocabulary/terms available to patreon supporters?

This was a great episode. I was thinking of making some card ‘controls’ for the TV meta level of running games, some for everyone and some specifically. Script Change buttons, an X, but also inspired by this kind of chat, things like ‘montage’, ‘smash cut’, ‘paint the scene’ and so on so that I can remind myself of some of the tools.
Also question-wise, I realise some of my scenes can run long. I know I should enter scenes late and leave early but I lose track of it in the moment. What are some good ways of encouraging ending or shortening scenes both for me and my players?

You are both amazing! The thing from this one that just keeps bouncing around in my head is the idea of naming the techniques you want to incorporate into play! Wow! Brilliant!
