Friday Dreams
I rolled 2d6 +CHA and got an “8,” so that’s eight dreams to give away this week…
A dream to Lowell Francis who has taken on a leadership/mentorship role at Gauntlet Hangouts and is doing incredible stuff with it.
A dream to Kate Bullock, who is sharing our magic and bringing folks into the fold.
A dream to David LaFreniere who is moving into the content side of Codex, which is a massive help to me.
A dream to the #feel_club channel on our Slack group. Such an incredible space for support and encouragement. It’s a marvel to behold.
A dream to Claudia Cangini who has been such a pleasure to work with on Codex.
A dream to Tom McGrenery and Paul Edson, my co-conspirators on Fear of a Black Dragon. Working on that show has been so creatively fulfilling, you don’t even know.
A dream to Hamish Cameron who gave us some dreams on Twitter yesterday out of nowhere, and it was lovely.
A dream to Kyle Simons, who is always so supportive of me personally, and who just gets it.
Do you have some dreams to give out this week? Post them in the comments (and tag people!)
A dream to you, Jason Cordova, for working so hard to make the Gauntlet a welcoming community which nurtures kindness, thoughtfulness and vulnerability.

Dreams to all my current game design collaborators: Logan Howard for making wild Dungeon World zines with me, Richard Rogers for indulging in everything Lady Blackbird (with the occasional trip to a galaxy far far away), and Lauren McManamon for a secret project about girls who find themselves falling down rabbit holes or carried away by tornadoes.

Dreams to +Lauren McManamon who seems to be on the same wavelength as me wherever I have a #GivingMeLife moment lately

Dream to Jason Cordova for your hard work in this community that has been so welcoming of me and for running such awesome games all of the time.
Dream to Lauren McManamon, an amazing friend and such a fantastic editor and player. Always look forward to interacting with her.
A dream to Lowell Francis, it’s been so great getting to play with him again and he’s such a giving GM. Always makes sure people are ok with the fiction and results and runs really cool gamers.
A dream for Andi Carrison for last nights Girl By Moonlight Actual Play on twitch. I stayed up late to watch it and it ended up being really moving and great. And of course, all the players were fantastic but Andi definitely stole the night near the end, for me.
And a dream to Matthew Doughty who is always fun to play with and clearly takes a lot of pride in his character work and immersion into each game. And has so much enthusiasm for each game he comes into!

Dreams to Lowell Francis, Matthew Doughty, Auzumel S, and Fraser Simons for that month of awesome Mutant: Year Zero games!
Of course, a dream to Jason Cordova for making the space to do it, and for all the encouragement and development work on Operators.

Dreams to Jason Cordova for giving me some amazing feedback & direction on my game last month, as well as for running Seclusium. Dreams to my fellow players in that Christo Meid David LaFreniere Jennifer Erixon . A dream to Kyle Simons for his fresh design work in Operators, which I totally need on my shelf and has inspired me in my own design work on the Beats system. A dream to Shane Liebling for his work on rollforyour.party – Roll For Your Party, without which I’m not sure I’d be able to effectively playtest it. Dreams to Yoshi Creelman Dylan Ross and the many others who have given me personal direction at times. Dreams to people representing my queer and otherwise diverse dream world Jason Cordova (again) River Williamson (who is also running Pack of Strays soon) Sidney Icarus Kate Bullock Robert Bohl Philipp Neitzel Gerrit Reininghaus . Dreams to those who have been brave and abstained from the privilege of skirting the discussion of political realities.

Dream to Yoshi Creelman, who helped me solve what would’ve been a time bomb of stupidity in my next game were it not for our conversations.

A dream to Jason Cordova for the loving care he takes of his community and another one for all the inspiring briefs he gave me in this months.
A dream also to the whole Gauntlet projects for being so inspiring to so many people.

Dream to Jason Cordova, I always appreciate your generosity, spirit, and support. You helped create so many avenues into doing amazing things I didn’t even realise I wanted to do if that makes sense (it probably doesn’t).
Dream to Fraser Simons, I adore your warmth, creativity and kindness, both as a game designer and as an amazing person, and I’m lucky to know you.
Dream to Jesse Ross, and the thoughtful, enthusiastic care you breathe into your projects. I’m very excited I get to design a thing with you, and I know it’s going to be awesome because of you.
Dreams to Donogh McCarthy and Mark Causey, you were both so incredibly generous with your time and support writing that wee dinky town. I really appreciate your guidance and feedback, and the piece is a million times better because of it.
Dream to Ellen Saxon, you are such an amazing god damned player and I hope everyone in this community has the opportunity to interact with your amazing characterisation. You’ve made me almost cry twice in one game of Lu Quade’s Fall of Magic.
Dreams to Robert Bohl, Ferrell Riley, and Michael G. Barford, who I rarely, if ever, get to game with, but who are always on Slack bringing me joy, support, and community spirit.
Dream to Shane Liebling, and all of the effort, care, and intellect you put into this community as GM, and amazing player. You always display such awareness not just for the people at the table, but for the social rhetoric that sits atop of the games we create, and that is truly inspiring.

Dreams right back at you Lauren McManamon! You make me wanna be a better player and push more on the emotional and intellectual aspects of games. Love you x

You’re awesome Lauren McManamon! Looking forward to Fiasco next month!

Dreams to Jason Cordova, Phillip Wessels and Patrick Knowles (amongst others) for engaging so strongly and thoughtfully with me in a recent slack discussion re: Gauntlet Daddies. The conversation made me think about what was making me uncomfortable about it (which was largely an objectification thing), and encultured me a little further into this community – particularly in regards to being careful not to shame people for what they find attractive. Anyway, thanks!! x o

A dream to Jason Cordova for fostering such a strong community to play in & for all of Mercy Falls which has been giving me so much life recently – I can’t wait for Mercy Falls 4!
A dream to Tyler Lominack for always running the games I want to play in the way I want to play them! And for, y’know, life and love and general wonderfulness and whatnot!
Dreams to Lowell Francis & Auzumel S for making a play space that feels like home! Lowell is a highly responsive & genre-savvy GM – and a talented game designer who needs to stop calling himself a “hacker”. And Sherri is a razor-sharp player who constantly invites you to be better, truer, and more invested in a game than you thought you ever could be (and whose fingerprints are all over the games that Lowell is designing!).
A dream to Fraser Simons for being my Spirit Animal Game Designer! The Veil is a shockingly insightful game that flays open my emotions and changes me every time I play it (in all the best ways). And Uncanny Echo is speaking to me in so many supportive ways – I cannot wait to see where that project is going every month!
A dream to Gerrit Reininghaus for so many reasons. For being a provocative, exciting player. For being an insightful, brave designer. For making me love Jason Morningstar (again). For introducing me to Sabine V . And for so many other things.
A dream to Richard Rogers for just generally existing! But more specifically: For geeking out over Star Wars. For being my first official Gauntlet GM. For being an incredible advocate for gaming in general and The Gauntlet in particular. For being a deeply philosophical orc who doesn’t care for philosophy. For making me wake up even earlier on Saturdays (hey, wait…). And for introducing me to soooo many new games that I never would have seen otherwise!
