I have a hack of Lasers & Feelings that I’m working on and I’d love some feedback if anyone wants to take a look.

It’s a Lovecraftian Horror game I’m calling Fear & Reason. The rules weigh in at 2 pages. I was going for a slightly crunchier version of Cthulhu Dark.

  1. Nice!

    Proofreading stuff:

    * “goes the worse it can get” should be “…worst…”

    * “answer you honestly” should be “answer honestly”

    * “killing, subduing, incapacitant your opponent” should be “killing, subduing, or incapacitating your opponent”

    Comments:

I like it! It looks like it would play easily and quickly, with combat being very, very dangerous.

I love the insanity bit where another player writes down your actual reaction.

Hot-Shot and Daring are a bit too similar for my tastes, but that’s trivial to change so it’s not a big deal.

    Very cool!

  3. Anders Gabrielsson thanks, yeah its still very rough editing wise, I’d eventually get someone to go through it with a fine tooth comb.

Lately I kinda hate tracking combat as a back and forth, and wanted one roll to do everything in a combat sequence. I was super happy to see Cthulhu Dark do something similar, it tells me I’m on the right track.

Thanks on the insanity, I really wanted something different and potentially unsettling.

Good point on Hot Short and Daring…I’ll think on this one.

Thanks again for the comments, and insight!
