The Clay That Woke question:
My group let me do a one-shot of this last night and really dug it. I was prepping for a one shot I’ll be running at Fear the Con.
Has anyone done a longer game of Clay?
I’m concerned that the hopping back and forth and the constant running back into each other over the various jobs might stretch credibility a bit over time. What’s your experience with the longer games been?
I did. I don’t have time to answer now. I will later.

In my Wield game, I’ve started having players take over other characters that are hanging out in the scene but that doesn’t feel like the right way to go with this.

You could frame it so that the reason you’re showing these particular jobs is because they’re the ones where they run into each other, with the assumption others happened but were less interesting?

In fact I must tell you that in our group this was never an issue. As a Gm I choose the jobs, so I make sure those jobs have different impact on my prep (which is crucial with TCtW). So when something unfold the maximum of characters can be involved.
Then, unless there is a very good reason, I try to be quick on the job description, focus on npc and spend more time on events I prepared (jungle encounter, social events).
What I realized while playing, is that there is a common drive that unite all characters : change this weird and fucked up society. At the beginning, I agree that it is a lot of single characters’ scene. But as the game goes on player have teamed up to tackle that goal.
I hope I was helpful.
Damn! now I am thinking about minotaurs… #claytalk
