LARPS:
I’m thinking of running a LARP at an upcoming con. I’ve never run one before. I’ve only played in a couple, both of which were home brewed.
The con will take place at a summer camp, but in autumn. So we may be able to use some outdoor situations.
I’m not sure how bleedy I want the game to be – something low-middle bleedy I think. Challenge the other newbies (and myself) a bit; but not too much.
I expect <10, probably <6 players.
Suggestions on games, tips and tricks for the newbie facilitator, tips and tricks for running a con LARP, other thoughts, other LARPy resources?
I guess Larps from the Factory and the #feminism anthology are already on your radar?
The Climb by Jason Morningstar sounds like a doable thing.

I hear still life is very good for cons and is essentially able to scale infinitely (I mean you can totally larp space rocks, right?)

I’d take a look at the Golden Cobra games, particularly the winners. Many are scalable and suitable for outdoor play. Many are quite short so you could run several. goldencobra.org – Golden Cobra Challenge

Gerrit Reininghaus Thanks! Nothing was on my radar until your post. Thanks for the suggestions!

Thanks Jason Morningstar those Golden Cobra games have some gems in there. I actually opened up about 20 of them in tabs, and I could see running many of them. The one I like right now is Glass Ceiling, where you play a coven of witches who all work at the same corporation…
David Rothfeder I found the rules for that game I think – but it seems slightly advanced for someone who has never run a LARP before (me). It seemed like htere were places where I would have to “fill in the blanks” a bit. That said, I would love to play it – it feels very VERY meditatative.
