It was a real joy rediscovering roleplaying games with you all in the past months.

It was a real joy rediscovering roleplaying games with you all in the past months.

I met and gamed online with amazing people.

I learned about indie games and story games.

I created stuff, worked on projects and gave advice.

This was a fun ride but now I must say goodbye.

I over-extended myself without realizing it. I can feel a burn-out slowly creeping up on me.

The games finish too late and I get up really early in the morning.

(between 4am and 6am depending on the days).

And really, I think too much about make-belief stuff and my RL repsonsabilities

are starting to add up.

Some may be able to manage this well but I’m not one of these people.

I become obsessed with projects and it can be a bit overwhelming for those around me.

For those that had RSVP to one of my games: I’m really sorry to let you down.

I know I had a commitment to you all but please understand my commitment

to my family and work must come first.

Hope you all enjoy many more years of happy gaming. Who knows, when my kids are a bit older,

I may come and say hi again…the Gauntlet will probably be still around. I think its growing into something truly special.

Take care. Love from β€œthe guy up north”

  1. Didn’t get to game with you, but I’ll echo what so many others are saying (and one of the things that makes me appreciate this community so much!): Good work on taking care of yourself, that quest is never easy. Good luck in your adventures…

  3. Noooooo! 😒 At least it was good while it lasted. Take care of the family and of yourself. Hopefully I will see you around the bend IRL sometime soon.

  5. I’ll miss you !!! If you can do cons, maybe that is a good compromise! Remember GauntletCon is happening this fall πŸ™‚ but no pressure and good luck with everything!

  7. Maxime, I understand family and work priority. Thank you for helping me acclimate to this online RPG environment; you are particularly adept at being welcoming and accommodating. When you make your return trip, please lead with your DW adventure. I was particularly keen on being a part of that one!
