  1. Some thoughts on this episode:

    – I’ve loosely constructed these sessions around a “tour de realms” approach. I’m fascinated by the world of the Mad City, which is a love letter to Neil Gaiman’s Neverwhere with a dash of Wonderland mixed in.

    – The Roof Rats vs. the Paper Boys is this odd little Hatfield and McCoys squabble that amuses me greatly, so I thought it would be fun to see how Alan would handle them

The Nightly Revealer is a “rogue paper” in the world where the Paper Boys try to predict headlines and sometimes work to make them come true. Normally, they are after the Wax King, but for some reason, they decided that this big Battle of the Bands was headline worthy.

    – I adore Paul singing in conflicts, it is the most fun thing about the game for me!

    – I gave Paul a heads up before the game that I would ask him about Honey Combs and how Alan first met her, but I had no idea what his answer would be. I really wanted to know what it was about her that drove him to find her. I don’t think we have the full answer yet, though.

    – I’m really happy with the music I used in this episode! Tabletop Audio for the backdrop of the Mad City (I snipped out lots of horse sounds, mostly neighing). The jam song playing in the Honey memory was a nice find, I wanted something that meshed with Alan’s description – heavy baseline, something good, but not great overall, no singing. The music cue at the end during the headline reveal is an awesome track, it was a shame I had to use so little of it for that moment.

    – I don’t know why Audacity decided to use my webcam mic instead of my purty Blue Snowball for audio input this episode. I sound so damn echoy, but there was nothing I could figure out to fix it. Que sara sara.
