Hi everyone, I’m looking for an alternate system to play in the Numenera setting after playing the recent PC game.

Hi everyone, I’m looking for an alternate system to play in the Numenera setting after playing the recent PC game. Does anyone have any handy suggestions? I’m looking for something more story games style but nothing is leaping to mind.

  1. Fate Accelerated would do a decent job too. Compels are similar to GM intrusions and aspects are basically descriptors. The games mentioned above are all good choices too.

  3. Legacy definitely tries to mine that same science-fantasy vein – weird tech devices of previous cultures are meant to be everywhere, and your factions adapting to the weirdness of the world and building a new society in it is a big element. It’s more organisation focused than standard games and it’s going for a more zoomed-out timescale than standard adventuring, but it might be worth a look – check out the examples of play on my blog if you’re interested!

  5. Have you played The Shadow of Yesterday? I wasn’t very keen on the setting, but the mechanics were very nice. Story-gamey with enough trad in them to run combats every once in a while. The mechanics were released separately under the name “Solar System”.
