  1. At the moment, the Gauntlet Slack is limited to people who either 1) create things for the Gauntlet, 2) run regular games on Gauntlet Hangouts, or 3) pledge at a certain level on Patreon. The Patreon pledge levels are all taken, but we’re expanding that soon because of the many requests we get to join the Slack.

  3. It looks like it filled while I wasn’t paying attention. The only other thing I was saying was trying to play as a one-shot over hangouts could be a bit tricky. Did you have secret tips?

  5. So here are the comments I wrote on Judd Karlman’s photo of your question, not understanding that I was typing comments into a dead hole:

Hey folks, I’d agree that MY is not designed as a one-shot, but almost all the games I’ve ever played of it have been a one-shot.

To facilitate one-shot play, I’d encourage you to either pre-create a world and characters, or use one of the worlds I’ve published on the game’s site (misspentyouth.robertbohl.com). Also, because of the Kickstarter, I’ll soon be publishing 5 additional worlds to the website. And when the KS happens, we’ll have a book of 19 more worlds.

  7. That said, I can’t speak to how it works over Hangout, not having played it there (in my memory). It should work fine, though. Seeing other characters’ sheets is useful, maybe even vital. But that can be achieved over Hangouts.

If Jason would like to elaborate what makes it hard on Hangouts, I’d be happy to address that, too.

  9. Ahh. Great! We’ll be pre-creating the world and characters.

Hangouts is a little impersonal, that’s all. Can be hard to get a feel for when to interrupt.

  11. Robert Bohl Oh, I’ve never actually played on Hangouts, but I’ve played several times FtF, and I just remember thinking a lot of the fun table chatter you use to get a scene going, the tracking sheet, and some other things would be tricky to do online.

  13. Yeah the only other thing I can think is the part where everyone grabs for the dice. You obviously can’t do that on Hangouts. But the rule is “says ‘me’ first, or grabs the dice first.” So you can do a vocal die grab.
