World of Dungeons question.

World of Dungeons question.

What is the difference between the Cleric’s Cure ability and the Skill Heal?

I have characters trying to do the same things with each of these. Im not sure why they both exist.

P.S.

I understand you can’t fail with Heal. So why have Cure?

  1. Heal can require materials, such as bandages, which you have to pay for and can be used up. Cure is done with a touch.

Also, Cure does things that might not be healing (and so could fail for a Cleric*), such as removing a curse or neutralising a poison before it’s been introduced to someone’s body.

    * Someone could also have Cure but not Heal, from level 3 on.

  3. The way I read it, “attempt to neutralize poisons, remove curses, or heal wounds with a touch” means it requires a check, but also expands what a check will allow you to accomplish. Without Cure, a Heal check might allow you to stop bleeding or fight an infection, but supernatural healing is out of the question.
