Episode 77 of The Gauntlet Podcast is here! This one features a discussion of City of Mist, a game presently tearing through Kickstarter stretch goals, along with loads of GM talk from me and Andrea.
Thanks to Steve for this week’s edit!
Enjoy!

Another great ep! For a while I thought Andrea was talking about Syberia the game, that super old mystery point and click.

We recorded both sessions of City of Mist and I’ve posted those on YouTube:
Session One: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AiNC49vJIo
Session Two: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mv8O0OdBblg
At the start of S2, I talk about the couple of rules I got wrong in S1.
I’ll scan and post my prep notes for S2 later; I tried to follow the guidelines presented in the starter set.

Good podcast
Re: Silent Legions
– it’s magnificent
– it’s not a “procedural generator set” like Lovecraftesque… it’s really a sandbox generator and a start-to-finish workflow for the GM.
It’s also not just about cosmic horror — there’s a deconstruction of the different kinds of horror at the start. It does a fantastic job of top-down worldbuilding from your pantheon of elder gods all the way down to cults etc. and it manages the locations using a tag system. With the magic spells and pocket dimensions I’d use it to run a Clive Barker style game.
But it’s also very “traditional” if we’re still allowed to use that word… closest to CoC and Chill, I guess.
I really like it

Awesome! Thanks Ralph Lovegrove that gives me better insight on it. I’ll probably pick that up.
