When using flags in Dungeon World, how do you handle the Aid/Interfere move? I’ve been having my players justify a stat and roll like defy danger. This leads to lots of +2 and +3 aid rolls. Maybe this isn’t a bad thing?

  1. I go with + stat as well. The important thing is that the aid has to be justified in the fiction. “I want to help” isn’t enough.

The Thief wants to help get the rock of The Paladin. Is their reason selfish? Will The Paladin refuse the aid? How exactly does the 98lb weakling intend to move the 2 ton boulder? Maybe they have to expend some resource to help at all.

Also, maybe there’s a better move.
