Just putting out some feelers for an idea I had lately that hopefully, will appeal to some people in the community! I’ve already begun writing up some preliminary text for the game that will come after The Veil (a cyberpunk PbTA hack that can be found more in detail here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/samjokopublishing/the-veil-cyberpunk-rpg and the community page: https://plus.google.com/communities/111282641132726730775) annnnd my schedule opens up dramatically come September.

So, what I was hoping to do is: run a campaign, or participate in one as a player — either are completely fine with me — and have that migrate into what I’ve got planned next. The Veil was actually just the first step in an overall design goal I have, which is fairly ambitious and likely to be 2-3 more years until fully realized. The Veil is actually meant to be the first cog in a modular and stand alone design goal. So what I need are some people who like The Veil and want to play, but also willing to playtest what comes after as well!

To sum up, what I’m wondering is this: If anyone is interested in trying out The Veil, and if so after a session or two, moving said game into a campaign — which would then naturally progress into the next game I’m working on now.

  3. My schedule will be pretty free so I should be able to work around whoever is interested, although I usually have a game Saturday’s at 7 eastern typically, when I return home. Weekly or bi-weekly. As for how long, I’m flexible on that as well but typically 3-4 hours is the sweet spot.

  5. I’ve not played the Veil, but am always interested in a new system. I’m assuming you’ll be running this through hangouts or something to that effect? Roll20 maybe? If so, I might be interested.

  7. Yeah, sorry I’ve just edited the original post to include links to The Veil. It’s a cyberpunk sandbox setting, powered by the apocalypse game. I’ll be using roll20 for sure, I’ve modified the original AW roll20 stuff to it, as best I can. Works fairly well.

  11. I will be able to play earlier in the day for me on other days then Saturday, so I’m sure we could work something out if we could find other players who fit that schedule, too.

    The overall design goal is to have 3 self contained games, as well as optionally have an overlay which will then have them work together to form a story between all three — with each session being a spot in the overall story — depending on the timeline for max number of sessions people want to play.

    The next game is going to focus on shaking up the identity you establish in The Veil by jumping forward in time and having you re-skinned into another body. With mechanics that will be used to fill in the story between the two games, as well as the fact that you are in a different body unlike your own with a goal to explore your singular identity and what it means when it’s no longer tied to the flesh you used to have.
