Has anyone compiled or written a list of flags that can be used in place of bonds?

Has anyone compiled or written a list of flags that can be used in place of bonds?

Has anyone compiled or written a list of flags that can be used in place of bonds? I mainly want a list for my players to either pick from or draw inspiration from.

  1. I went through the DW character sheets from several of the Hangout games Jason ran and compiled the flags I saw there.

    Flags

Offer me an easier solution I must refuse on principle.

Cause/ecourage me to duel somebody one on one.

Ask me about some sort of obscure history and then suffer through my, probably wrong, answer.

Ask me a question that seems innocent, but is actually meant to get me to say what gender I am.

Ask me to give you a weapon at a time of desperation.

Tease out information about Melchior (my godling).

Participate in wild and unlikely schemes to gain the godling’s favor when we’re in a pinch.

Observe Melchior magically from his perch on my shoulders, and be unnerved.

Interrupt me when I’m ‘communing’ having aggressive conversations and losing at cards to someone no one else can see.

Bull-headed: Attempt to dissuade me from solving a problem through the use of force.

Cursed: Help Fiona find information on how to remove her curse of bloodthirst.

Allow me to cause undue harm for your own benefit.

Reveal a personal weakness so I can address it.

Allow me to challenge your faith in an institution.

Vendetta – Assist Mange to destroy a magic wielder’s most treasured possession or give the death blow to them.

Single Minded – Make the most stoic of halflings talk of life beyond her mission.

Self Righteous – Give me a reason to explain/demonstrate the folly of avarice.

Obsession: Help me to unearth hidden vampiric and undead lore.

Astute: Side with me on a course of action which does not involve bloodshed.

Charming: Defer to me when dealing with polite society .

Gullible – Tell me a lie I believe.

Liar – Believe and act on a lie I’ve told you

Righteous – Offer me an easier solution I must refuse on principle.

Outsider – Refuse my aid because I’m different.

Leader – Allow me to make a decision so you can criticize it.

  3. Here are a few from my last hangout game. I did not ask them to name their flags.

Ask me to do something daring and acrobatic.

Tell someone else about my exploits.

Ask me to examine an important object

Put us in situations I can justly complain about

Ask me about the history of a place.

Make it dangerous for me to help you.

  5. Alright, found the list I thought I’d lost.  Most of these stick pretty close to the source blog’s advice on flag creation, and most are inspired by The Shadow of Yesterday’s keys.

Cowardly – Offer me an opportunity to go into danger that i can refuse.

Caring – Harm or threaten to harm an enemy that I can step in and care or show compassion for.

    Greedy – Offer me a high-risk, high-reward plan that I can’t resist.

Loyal – Offer me an opportunity to achieve a goal by going against my comrades that I will refuse.

Protective – Get into a dangerous situation that I can protect you from.

Notorious – Attempt to reassure someone so i can make it clear how dangerous I really am.

Famous – Go incognito so I can mess it up by being recognizable.

Vengeful – Try to pull me back or rein me in so I can pursue vengeance at any cost.

Forceful – Attempt to use finesse so I can barge right in/through.

Sworn – Offer me an easy path that would break my vow so I can refuse.

Thief – Call attention to something valuable or useful that would be missed so I can steal it.

Manipulative – Follow a plan that benefits me while believing it’s your idea.

Explorer – Suggest a journey to a forbidden/dangerous locale so I can lead the way.

Advisor – Ask for and take my advice on a difficult matter.

Unbowed – Give me an order so I can refuse it.
