Hello fellow roleplayers! I’m new to the Gauntlet and online RPG meet ups in general, so I had a few questions.

Hello fellow roleplayers! I’m new to the Gauntlet and online RPG meet ups in general, so I had a few questions.

1. I assume the meet up calendar is in Central time, since the Gauntlet is based out of Houston, but I wasn’t sure.

2. If I sign up for a game, but something comes up and I can’t make it, is that frowned upon or is it a common occurrence?

3. How would one go about becoming a GM for the Gauntlet if it worked out well?

I appreciate any help I get and I hope to be a contributing and helpful member of the Gauntlet! Thanks!

  1. Hi Scott! Welcome to the Gauntlet!

    1. Yes, the times are Central.

    2. The only thing that is frowned upon is backing out of a game and not telling anyone about it, especially if there was a waitlist or the game requires a specific number of people. Otherwise, things happen, and I think most of the game organizers understand that.

For the games I run, I manage the Waitlist pretty aggressively. So, for example, if someone RSVP’s ‘Yes,’ but they have a history of backing out at the last minute, I usually move that person to the waitlist in favor of someone more reliable.

    3. Anyone can post a game so long as they follow a few basic procedures we have established (just message me or Dan).

  3. Awesome! Thanks Jason Cordova. I only have problems if my wife suddenly gets a work schedule change. Priorities, you understand. Love the podcasts! I’ll message you about the procedures a little later.
