  1. I’m glad you liked the AP, Eadwin Tomlinson. We were both delighted with how it came off. Also, it seems that, ‘canonically,’ this game is in the distant past of our Gauntlet UK DW game 🙂

  3. Lovely dialogue between thieves who don’t trust each other. I wasn’t aware there was canon I’m intrigued. We have to line up another DW UK game when you can. I’m also aware I’ve not written my entry. I’ll do it today while I think about it.

  5. Eadwin Tomlinson The female character made an appearance in our DW UK game, though she had a bigger role in the second session, which is why you might not remember it.

  7. I’ve stolen that egg before / later!

I always envisioned the ale being used in a carouse where the players witness NPCs acting strange.  you could also say that someone needs to be on guard or their is not enough for the last guy.  or just say, “as you fill your cup you notice that it is suddenly quiet and your friends are acting strange”.

I love yall’s ideas of actual acting out parts of the past.

i got the idea from a Clark Ashton Smith story called “a vintage from Atlantis”. where the witness was a lone pirate who was put on guard while the captain and crew “enjoyed” their find.

I love the idea of stuff that the players might not notice or be interested in (not a flaming sword, throw it in the loot pile) but turns out to be important.  wherever they sell or show it, it can cause problems or attract notice.  later a group of dwarfs could track them down and want to know where they found it…

  9. The Lady Castafiel! It saddens me to think that Fillion Don Dillion was the instrument of her final rest. She seemed like the calibre of scoundrel that he would have enjoyed the company of.

  11. Very Nice épisode (again). I do have a question regarding your advice on mass fighting. You said you deal your damage to all the gobelins. Do you mean that if my damage is 9 for exemple, every goblelin takes 9 damage ?

  13. Thanks, Luke Wayland! The text is unclear. It simply reads “apply damage to all targets.” I like a single damage roll because it minimizes bookkeeping, which I think is in the spirit of the game.

  15. I thought in mass fights the group as a whole have a HP. Therefore doing 5 points of damage to a 10 HP goblin horde fictionally means you take out half of them or maybe a couple of the tough looking ones…

  17. Eadwin Tomlinson If that’s in the text, I’m not aware of it. It may be something the community has developed over time, I don’t know. In the example I give in the show, we’re talking about a situation where someone is surrounded by a handful of enemies and narrates his move hitting more than one of them. In a truly “mass battle” situation, I usually handle it as a different sort of encounter.

  19. This was so great I went back and listened to the previous episodes! I super dig the format. Structuring the podcast after the DR move was brilliant. You have a new fan! Keep up the good work.
