In this, our final episode of the year, we discuss our favorite games of 2015. I don’t believe in the concept of ‘spoilers,’ so below is the list of games we discuss, including the co-host picks. Also, because I don’t believe in ‘spoilers,’ it turns out Supreme Leader Snoke is, in fact, Jar Jar Binks.

Ole Peder Giæver Thanks! We get asked about timestamps all the time. We’ll probably include them next year.

I can’t take credit for designing UED! It was written by Julio Matos and Fabiano Saccol. I just did the translation for the English edition.

Tom McGrenery Yes, thanks! We probably should have made that clearer.

Great episode, I loved reading and hearing these game pitches to see things that I missed or overlooked.
Richard Rogers steal away!
I am just so jelous of the AW PbP, I just don’t have the time at the moment to play, but in the next couple of weeks I really want to catch up on this game.

Blummen’ is a slang version of Blooming which obviously the Australians use because we’re commonwealth chums… Blooming is a less offensive way of saying bloody from when twas rude… DCC has some great material for DW use and it’s very rules light itself so I make it pretty narrative.

Kristen D Replaying old D&D is great until you hit the first 3 hour combat session.

i got a bit worried during the stinger when the necronomicon is mentioned along with “lets play this mysterious recording of someone talking in a strange language”… so far no one has tried to tear my head off…

Night Witches also stuck because I had just finished listening to Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History set on the Eastern Front of WW2, which had a bit devoted to the Night Witches. Having that plus the mechanics of the game really drove home how terrible the war really was for those brave ladies.

I finished listening. Those were some really nice things you had to say about me. Thank you.
I enjoyed every session we played and it is really nice to have an opportunity to play some rpgs in english again. Keeps my actual speaking skills from withering.

Thanks to you guys, Wandering Monsters High School is on my Christmas wish list… Sounds really hilarious.
Was surprised that World-Wide-Wrestling RPG didn’t make it though, it’s such an incredible game. Especially the “roleplaying in roleplaying” where you basically roleplay a professional who roleplays a wrestling character makes it very fun to play.

Jason Cordova I did, in fact, steal the Swords motif mechanic from another game. It was inspired by the claims system in Nathan Paoletta’s Annalise: http://ndpdesign.com/annalise/

Steve Hickey While I see you here and talking about Soth online play. I am planning to do an on air run on monday, but it would be in German. Would you be okay with me doing a provisional translation of a few of the handouts and providing them to the players in that version?

Just listened to this episode. Kristen D, to scratch that D&D itch, please seriously take a look at 13th Age. A lot of good stuff going on there, from designers of 3rd and 4th edition D&D, aimed at correcting real flaws of those games (e.g. multi-classing madness, combats that take forever, etc.) and pulling in a smattering of lessons from story games. (Also, _Eyes of the Stone Thief is a better megadungeon than most.)
