Here is my idea from earlier, in document form. It’s immediately relevant to the people I am currently/soon-to-be playing Dungeon World with (Richard Rogers Yoshi Creelman Jørund Kambestad Lie steven watkins David LaFreniere Doyle Tavener Russell Benner Daniel Fowler Jorge Salazar Jeff Burke), since it will be up to their characters to save up the Coin and get it going. However, anyone who thinks they might join me for a Dungeon World game in the future, or run a Dungeon World game under our banner, will want to pay attention.

As a side note, I think this idea is one of my very best, at least as far as being an organizer of games and gaming communities.

Feedback is welcome.

  1. Sounds fantastic to me. I love gaming artifacts, while not as tangible as a map from The Quiet Year, still something that you can look back at. (Plus easier to store)

  3. Jørund Kambestad Lie and Yoshi Creelman The Saturday Morning Cartoons group will almost certainly be the founding members since you have a little money already, and the TGI Thursday group is being put through a funnel first. But who knows? Their funnel might lead to a dragon’s hoard or something, haha.

  5. Very cool and interesting idea. It reminds me a bit of the West Marches sandbox game, which was always an ambitious project that intrigued me.

It’s a great evolution on the Anthologies idea, which left me feeling similar to you.

Hopefully I’ll get to make my mark sometime.

  7. Per the Dungeon World book, a mansion costs 50,000 coin. A keep costs 75,000 coin. You could probably knock that price down by throwing in something really valuable, but the cost would still be pretty high. You could get a discount on a cursed or haunted one, I suppose.

There is also the abandoned dwarven citadel ship the SMC players are currently exploring. It would be a real feat to make that the headquarters, but it’s not out of the realm of possibility…
