looking for players for swords without master

there is interest in a sunday game as well, so i’ll run either or both as long as there are at least two players

After a failed first attempt due to lack of players, I’ll again offer to run Swords Without Master.  As advised by Daniel Fowler, I’ll avoid Wednesday and Friday.  Sunday August 9 and Monday August 10 are available if either works better for a full group.  Please make a note in the comments which night(s) are best for you.

Additionally, I could run Psi*Run or facilitate Fiasco or Microscope if preferred.  Again, please state your preference below.

As mentioned on The Gauntlet podcast, Swords Without Master (http://www.worldswithoutmaster.com/swords-without-master/), by Epidiah Ravachol, is designed to emulate sword and sorcery short stories.

The game master, or Overplayer, presents challenges to the player characters, or Rogues, as is common for role playing games.  A significant difference is that dice rolls do not generally dictate success or failure of action, but tone of narration instead.  Since players are able to narrate freely, narrative control and story progression are distributed more heavily to the players than many other role playing games, producing emergent and unpredictable gameplay.

No experience necessary.  Players will only need an eidolon or simulacrum for their Rogue before we begin.  This is something from our world, such as a picture, a character, a song, or a miniature, that reminds the player in some way of their Rogue.  If nothing springs to mind then check here: https://www.pinterest.com/epidiah/eidolons-simulacra/

Four players maximum.  If you are interested but there are already four players, please RSVP, and you will be added to an alternate player list. Please don’t hesitate to sign up if the game looks full or there’s a chance you won’t be able to make it, but if the latter is the case please make a note of it and keep the rest of us informed.

  1. Ryan Poe How did this go (haven’t had time to watch yet)? Do you want me to pin it to the top of the page so people can check it out? Also: should I make a Youtube channel for The Gauntlet?

  3. i think it went well-a bit slow to get rolling but it seemed everyone enjoyed themselves overall

I’m going to add some description and relevant links to the video, hopefully this evening, but you can pin it if you’d like

I guess you could create a gauntlet you tube page and start a playlist, but that’s up to you-I suppose it will be nice to have everything accessible from one place

  5. I enjoyed it. We had some great cinematic moments in there and I’m keen to play again now I get the full flow of the game.  I think a bit more time to get the characters to gel at the start and the third round of motifs at the end would have really rounded the whole experience but I guess that’s time differences for you. Thanks Ryan Poe
