  1. I had got some early playtest documents from him when he first started talking about it in G+. Looked interesting but I didn’t get around to playing it. I’d be inclined to try the finished product though.

  3. I feel like the dark fantasy AW hack is a pretty crowded space right now. Even Vincent is doing Dark Age (which the author acknowledges). Maybe the religious angle will play out well for this one. After all, I can’t think of anything more dark and fantastical than the bible!

  5. Hi everybody, hi Kerry Harrison ; I just joined the community also to respond to this… I’m the author of City of Judas, and if anyone is interested, they can contact me directly (or of course, we can open a discussion here – I just want to make sure I’m not spamming).

The game is pretty much in its final stage; I am going through the last rounds of playtesting and at the same time checking with a friend/publisher how to make this into a final product.

I am still very interested in hearing comments and receiving feedback, especially from blind playtest (me not present to fix things/what comes out by playing ‘by the book’).

What you can download on the website is basically a stripped down, sort of quick-start, of the final version.

There’s a full manual (not public yet) but mechanics are the same.

    How does it play?

It’s slower than AW: it has a rhythm and some crunch, a bit closer to traditional fantasy games. We liked that 🙂

It’s usually focused: you can play PvP, and just ‘sandbox’, but especially at the start, it goes well with an approach in style Monster of the Week (PCs working together on a misssion).

It has flavor: I heard only praises about the setting and tone, so I hope it can serve as an inspiration even if someone wants to use a different system (I am even making a fate accelerated hack of it).

If someone is interested, please let me know; I’ll get you a link to the full manual. But please, only if you intend to play 🙂

(wow, I definitely wrote waaaay too much…)
