I’ll let the people who played Danger Mountain! chime-in on their thoughts about it. As for Ocean, we ran a sort of remixed version of it. Instead of the traditional setup of amnesiacs in an underwater research facility crawling with monsters, we did amnesiacs in a mysterious castle patrolled by clockwork men (I just finished watching that particular episode of Doctor Who). It was pretty cool. We gave each of the characters two starting skills instead of one, which helped speed-up the game (Ocean can drag on a bit if you’re not careful).

Thanks to everyone who came out: Daniel Lewis Russell Benner James Melott Scott Owen Kristen D Gary Wilson and Hunter!

  1. Danger Mountain! is like half of a good game.  The pre-disaster foreshadowing/relationship scenes are really cool and all of the character concepts work, but the actual mechanics are pretty lacking as far as when the disaster happens,  how and when people are rescued, etc. All of that felt pretty half baked.  It’s a shame that it wasn’t developed from game chef prototype to actual game because it definitely has potential.  It really makes me want to play the same premise but with a functional system driving it.  Now I’m wondering if you could just use one of the small town style fiasco playsets with a disaster themed tilt table…
