I have to say, I highly enjoyed this game.  The one piece of advice we were given was “try to use all your money every round”, and I have to say the players that followed that maxim were probably the most successful ones.  Also, while the Wind Turbines giving you a free X amount of power were great, being able to diversify what you can buy for your power plans was a very nice way to game the resource system.

    I really want there to be an online version of this game, I already want to play it again!

  3. Ferrell Riley It’s a great game. I think I probably should have stated the maxim about spending all your money in a round a little differently. It’s really more of a symptom than a cause. Better would have been: “Try to be as efficient as possible in executing your plan. Efficient players will usually end up having little or no money at the end of a round.”

    I recommended 1001 nights as a possible next game but it would be even better would be battlestar galacticathe board game.  does anyone own it?  maybe we should start a list of what we have and what we like or want to try.  I know Jason wants to play Arkham Horror.

  7. I have BSG base game and the Daybreak expansion. I also have about 60 other games. I won’t be able to make the next one but can definitely contribute in the future if you needed.

    most of the Parsley text adventure simulator games from Jared Sorensen.

    The Resistance: Avalon is something you should give a try if you haven’t already.  Easy to learn, tons of fun, supports 5-10 people, plays in about 45 minutes, and captures the traitorous fun of the BSG game without the overhead.  Don’t get me wrong, though; I love BSG, and have been looking for an excuse to play it again.

    it is basically a chose your own adventure book that you have read to you.  you make the choices and then everyone laughs about your horribly cruel fate.  then you read the next guys story.  It can easily be played by 2 people and can go on for as long as they wish.  with 5 or more it might take a while but the stories are always fun.  it is hard to play in a loud place or with very young children who have trouble reading but from my experience at Jax on Mondays I doubt that will be a problem.
